Anchor Specification Engine
Stop guessing anchor sizes. Answer 6 quick questions about your project — substrate, load, fixture, and layout — and get the exact diameter, embedment depth, pilot hole spec, edge distance, and torque value, calculated per the ACI 318-19 structural standard. Includes a printable spec sheet and step-by-step installation guide.
How this tool works
The Anchor Specification Engine implements the anchor design provisions of ACI 318-19 Chapter 17 — the same standard structural engineers use to specify post-installed anchors in concrete, masonry, and other substrates. It calculates minimum embedment depth, concrete breakout capacity, edge distance and spacing requirements, and matches the result to real fastener products with manufacturer torque specifications.
Six built-in safety gates flag situations that exceed safe DIY scope — such as overloaded hollow-block anchors, high seismic zones, or structural railings — and recommend consulting a licensed structural engineer (PE) before proceeding.
